Dr. Todd Donnelly, DMD
Founder | Orthodontically Trained Functional Rehabilitative & Preventive Dentist
Dr. Todd Donnelly is the founder of Northwest Dental Centre and brings a calm, systems-based approach to dentistry grounded in science, precision, and long-term health.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with distinction before completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine with Dean’s Honours in 1997. Dr. Donnelly pursued an additional year of advanced clinical training through a highly individualized externship program that included Plastic Surgery, Ear–Nose–Throat Surgery, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. This interdisciplinary foundation continues to shape how he evaluates complex dental, airway, and bite-related problems today.
Dr. Donnelly is known for providing clarity when situations feel complicated or uncertain. Many patients come to him after receiving multiple opinions, experiencing chronic jaw or facial pain, struggling with sleep-related concerns, or feeling unsure how to move forward. His role is to step back, assess the whole picture, and create a thoughtful plan that prioritizes stability, comfort, and longevity.
His clinical focus spans general, cosmetic, surgical and functional dentistry. This includes restorative/rehabilitation, orthodontic planning, airway-centric dentistry & sleep testing, Invisalign®, TMJ and Sleep Apnea care, implant planning, and therapeutic & cosmetic facial injectables. Each treatment plan is guided by balance, proportion, and an understanding of how forces, breathing, and structure affect long-term oral health.
In recent years, Dr. Donnelly has expanded his work further into airway health, sleep-disordered breathing, and TMJ-related head, neck, and jaw pain. Northwest Dental Centre is a trusted provider of home sleep testing, allowing patients to be evaluated comfortably and conveniently without the need for overnight sleep lab visits.
Continuing education is a cornerstone of Dr. Donnelly’s practice. Dentistry is constantly evolving, and he remains deeply committed to integrating modern digital technology, evidence-based care, and interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver treatment that is both progressive and predictable.
Above all, Dr. Donnelly believes dentistry should be transparent, calm, and empowering. He takes time to clearly explain conditions and options so patients can make informed decisions with confidence and feel supported throughout their care.
Dr. Donnelly has proudly called Calgary home since 1998. Outside the clinic, he enjoys time with his wife and son, staying active outdoors through biking, hiking, and snowboarding.
Fun fact: he is also a recreational pilot.
Northwest Dental Centre is a locally owned healthcare practice that values community involvement and proudly supports local initiatives.
Dr Alok Singh
Doctor of Dental Surgery
I graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA in 1998. Post graduately, I completed a surgical residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio; a level 1 trauma center.
At MetroHealth, I gained substantial experience performing surgical dentistry and coordinating many complex dental cases. I have been an avid, life-long learner and continue to invest heavily in furthering my dental education.
Over the past 20 years my dental education has been primarily focussed on the areas of dental implants, gum and bone grafting and sedation dentistry. I offer IV sedation to my patients for several reasons: fear and anxiety (I completely understand that not everyone loves going to the dentist!), medical issues which can make providing dentistry the traditional way very challenging, or people who would like to get a large amount of treatment done in a single session.
I grew up in Edmonton where I achieved my undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta and have been living in Calgary since 2001. I moved here because of the proximity to the mountains and my love of snowboarding. When I am not working, I love spending time in the mountains, motorcycling, and traveling. Recently I was able to combine two of my hobbies by doing a motorcycle trip through South Africa!

Dr Aeliya Razvi
Associate Dentist
I’m an internationally trained dentist who’s proud to now call Calgary home. I graduated from India in 2000 and practiced as a general dentist for over a decade. This allowed me to develop a strong foundation in comprehensive oral health — from diagnosis and restorative care to patient education and prevention.
After moving to Canada, I completed the Canadian Equivalency Process in 2022 and have been practicing in Calgary over 2 years in diverse clinical settings. I like to expand my clinical skills through Continuing Education courses and stay updated with new techniques. The experience has deepened my understanding of how early detection, prevention, and patient awareness play a vital role in maintaining long-term oral and systemic health. I cater to emergency, preventive, and restorative requirements working interdependently with the Northwest Dental Center team. My goal is to ensure every patient feels informed, confident, and actively involved in their care — because prevention, communication, and trust form the foundation of a healthy smile. Working in a practice that values prevention and patient education feels like a perfect fit — as I truly believe small steps today can make a big difference for tomorrow’s healthy smile and general well-being.
Outside work, I love trekking the beautiful mountain trails and spending time with family and friends. As a proud mother of 3 children and a loving wife, I am a firm believer in strong family core values. I carry this philosophy into practice, giving my patients the care and attention they deserve.
I love treating patients of all ages and look forward to the opportunity to meet you in the office!
Administration

Lyn
Administration / Practice Management
I was delighted to join Dr Donnelly’s team in 2019. You will find me at front reception providing administrative duties with the goal of making your experience with our team as easy and transparent as possible.
I bring decades of accounting, and administration experience to the team. I started my career in banking in a small community northeast of Calgary. After thirteen years in the banking industry, I found a new fit with an opportunity to expand my knowledge in the dental field. What a pleasant surprise!
I have now been in the dental industry for over forty years in the areas of management, treatment coordination, administration, and human resources. It is my privilege to extend my resources to help make everything straight-forward for you.
My key areas of expertise are financial arrangements (for both insured and uninsured clients) and keeping current with hundreds of dental insurance benefits plans finding the best value for you from your plan.
I am very proud to be a part of Dr. Donnelly’s dental team and I strive to make all our clients feel welcome. Consistent, positive experiences are my top priority.
In my spare time I enjoy music, camping, spending time with my family and my Shihtzu, Malea.
Elizabeth
New Client Experience Coordinator
I joined Northwest Dental Centre in 2025 as the New Client Experience Coordinator and have been in the dental field since 2009. What excites me most about dentistry is that it is far more than “having or not having teeth.”
While studying for my Bachelor of Arts in Geography with a concentration in Linguistics at Trinity Western University, I became fascinated that everything in nature has an intrinsic design and purpose. That same design exists in our oral system: the harmony of teeth, lips, and tongue allows us to pronounce sounds clearly and connect with others through communication. Dentistry plays a meaningful role in enhancing not just health, but relationships and confidence.
Preventive Dentistry, Sedation Dentistry, and Dental Sleep Medicine are areas especially close to my heart. We all need healthy teeth and gums to nourish our bodies, yet dental anxiety often stands in the way of essential preventive care. Sedation dentistry provides a compassionate bridge, helping patients receive the treatment they need comfortably and safely.
I have personally benefited from clear aligner therapy, which helped prevent premature wear of my teeth, and I’ve seen how Dental Sleep Medicine can transform patients’ lives by improving sleep and overall well-being.
Northwest Dental Centre | Calgary TMJ and Sleep Apnea Clinic allows me to share these areas of passion while supporting patients in achieving healthier, happier lives.

Kaitlyn
Administration / Treatment Coordination / Sterilization
I joined Dr Donnelly’s team at Northwest Dental Centre in 2005. I have been fortunate to be part of a team culture that enables continuous professional development and sharing of knowledge and skills. My participation in this culture has allowed me to be cross-trained and flexible in client care delivery.
This cross-training has broadened my skills and now allows me to work with front reception and directly on the clinic floor with the doctor teams utilizing my versatility.
I am delighted to be a part of this amazing team of like-minded dental professionals. We work effectively to bring our best for our clients. Please let me know how I can serve you best.
I love to shop and spend time with my family in my spare time.
Julie
Administration / Treatment Coordination
I was excited to join Dr Donnelly’s team at Northwest Dental Centre in 2021 in administration. Fun Fact: we first worked together in the late 1990s /early 2000s in the Nosehill area before Dr Donnelly established his own family practice at Northwest Dental Centre.
I’m a born and raised Albertan and graduated from the University of Calgary with a Psychology degree.
I have over 25 years of dental experience including assisting, sterilization and administration. Although cross-trained, you will see me at front reception providing new client onboarding and client concierge services for complex treatment plans.
I love getting to know our clients and understanding their needs to achieve their best oral health.
While I’ve retired as of August 1, 2025, I’ll still be making ‘guest appearances’ at front reception from time-to-time.

Dental Hygienists & Assistants

Sonia
Registered Dental Hygienist
I’m a UBC alumnus with a degree in Dental Hygiene, and I am thrilled to share my knowledge and expertise back with my hometown of Calgary!
My passion towards dentistry began at the age of 15 when I started volunteering with marginalized populations and saw their lack of access to dental care. I decided then that I wanted to pursue a career in Dental to make a positive change in peoples’ lives!
My number one priority is to have a strong client relationship and to coach and empower my clients to make the best-informed decisions for their dental health. I always take the time to listen and answer questions and concerns with integrity and transparency. In my role as a Dental Hygienist, I provide gentle, comfortable preventive oral health care and I respectfully educate you about periodontal disease, its links to systemic disease and its detrimental effects on your overall health. It is my privilege to offer Dental Hygiene as a part of this great team of ours where I will consistently put your interests, values, and needs first.
A fun fact about me is that I volunteered and piloted the first Dental Hygiene Humanitarian Mission for the UBC Faculty of Dentistry in Vietnam where we provided dental care in multiple orphanages, and we helped spread awareness about oral cancer.
On my off hours you can find me in the gym staying active, travelling to new places, and spending time with my family!
Shirley
Registered Dental Hygienist
Hi, I’m Shirley and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Alberta. I continued at the University of Alberta and graduated with a diploma in Dental Hygiene.
It is hard to believe I have been working as a dental hygienist for 26 years. The work has been challenging and fulfilling over the years and I’m proud to develop my skills to provide this level of care. I thrive to be thorough while keeping my client’s comfort level in mind. I believe in open communication to improve the hygiene experience. The dental environment can be a very stressful place for most individuals and I have found over the years that building trust and the relationship between the client and operator can lessen the anxiety this environment can bring. In these 26 years, I have found my role as a dental hygienist has become more important as we learn about the link between dental diseases and our health, and the care I provide has become so much more meaningful.
As for my time away from work, I enjoy yoga and pilates as a way to decompress from a day at work. I am trying to meditate, although I would say I’m not very good at it. I love spending time in my kitchen cooking and baking. And I especially love spending time with my husband and two sons.

Amanda
Dental Assistant
My name is Amanda. I am a dental assistant with my orthodontic module. I joined Dr. Donnelly in summer of 2024. I love that dentistry is constantly evolving and Dr. Donnelly is always striving to provide the best care through continued education and the latest technology.
With over 10 years of dental assisting experience, my passion for dentistry has only grown stronger as I’ve had the privilege of working in various aspects of the field. From the very start of my career, I’ve been captivated by the ability to improve patients’ health and confidence, whether through routine care or specialized treatments.
I’ve always been dedicated to making each patient feel comfortable and well-cared for, understanding that dental visits can often be intimidating. I focus on creating a positive experience, ensuring patients feel supported and informed throughout their care.
In addition to orthodontics, I’ve pursued advanced education in TMJ (temporomandibular joint) therapy, sleep apnea treatments, and myofunctional therapy. I firmly believe in a holistic approach to dental care, understanding that oral health isn’t just about teeth but about the entire system—the muscles, joints, and airway that work together to create overall well-being. Whether it’s helping patients manage chronic jaw pain, addressing sleep-disordered breathing, or guiding them through myofunctional therapy to improve their oral posture and function, I’m deeply invested in making a comprehensive difference in their lives.
Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my family. My son and daughter keep me busy! I thrive in the hustle of our fast-paced lifestyle, always looking for ways to stay active and make lasting memories with my loved ones.
Danielle
Dental Assistant / Treatment Coordinator
I am a registered dental assistant here at Northwest Dental Centre and completed my certification in Alberta in 2020.
I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and have family from Jamaica.
My team tells me that I provide a welcoming, approachable, and positive energy to the practice which I believe flows into the genuine relationships I form with our clients.
My passion is working chair-side with clients and helping educate and empower them to make healthy decisions for their dental health, which is what ultimately led me to choosing a profession in the dental field.
I love Canada and the people – except the cold! I like to spend as much time as possible travelling and exploring all warm bodies of water. I hope to one day have seen them all.
I am currently away taking my Dental Hygiene Program and will return in 2025.
